There, citizens will be able to do sports throughout the year.

Prospects for construction of social infrastructure facilities of the Zapolyarye – Purpe oil trunk pipeline have been discussed in Novy Urengoy.

Andrey Voronov, Deputy Governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, held a meeting on the construction of social facilities in Korotchayevo District in Novy Urengoy. Ivan Kostogriz, the mayor of the city, Yevgeny Voroshilov, the chief architect, Sergey Smetanyuk, Deputy Director General of Transneft Siberia, Sergey Chernyayev, Corporation of Development’s Director General, and representatives of contract work organisations attended the meeting.

In the near future, construction of a swimming pool and an ice court will be started in Korotchayevo District with the financial support of Transneft. Land plots for the construction of these facilities have already been determined. They will be located near a school and a sports complex. The meeting’s participants analysed submitted building designs. In order to make them as modern and comfortable as possible, design contractors were recommended to make a number of adjustments to the designs. Both facilities are included in the region’s targeted investment programme.

In recent years, the Neftyanik residential estate, the Arktika sports and health complex and a gas boiler house with utility networks have appeared in Korotchayevo, all thanks to the participation of the oil transportation company. By November this year, a modern complex of waste water treatment plants with a trunk communications system and the capacity of 2,5 thousand cubic metres per day is expected to have been commissioned. A nursery school for 240 children is also being built in Korotchayevo. All these facilities are being constructed as part of the six-party agreement between the Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in Ural Federal District, state government authorities of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area and Tyumen Region, Transneft and Corporation of Development.

The new sports facilities will allow residents of Korotchayevo to do sports in a comfortable environment and lead a healthy lifestyle. The covered ice arena and the swimming pool with 25-meter-long lanes will allow to do it all year-round.
