The Transneft Alley of Life was opened in Sokolniki Park

Date of publication: 11 November 2013

On November 9, 2013 in Moscow’s Sokolniki Park (the sixth radial lane) the Company employees laid the Transneft Alley of Life – 150 specially grown red oak seedlings adapted to the moderate climate. The environmental event coincided with the Company’s 20th birthday that is celebrated this year. More than three hundred employees of Transneft, including its President N. Tokarev, took part in the tree-planting.

N. Tokarev says that “the Company has already put into effect many charity projects aimed at protection of wildlife, nature, birds in different regions. There is no obligation to participate in charity, but we enjoy it and it makes us happy. I know that at weekends about 50 thousand people come to Sokolniki. We wanted to make a beautiful alley that would be blooming and bring joy to many generations of Moscow residents.”

Members of the families of Transneft employees, children and even grandchildren, took part in the voluntary environmental Saturday work; after the tree-planting work was over, the participants were invited to the concert. In the unanimous opinion of the participants of the tree-planting, such socially important eco-events will be included in the Company’s regular activities.
