On September 26, 2013 Transneft, JSC, MGIMO MFA of Russia and the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy of MGIMO signed the Agreement on Strategic Partnership. The document was signed by N. Tokarev, President of Transneft, JSC, A. Torkunov, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Rector of MGIMO MFA of Russia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and V. Salygin, a corresponding member, Director of the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy of MGIMO.
The Agreement addresses development of cooperation in personnel training, retraining and further training, opening of the basic department of Transneft “Foreign Economic Activities in Transportation of Energy Resources” at the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy of MGIMO. The cooperation will also include joint research and scientific expert evaluation pertaining to problems of strategic development of the oil-and-gas sector, global energy policy and energy security.
During the procedure of signing the Agreement, the parties expressed confidence that the consolidation of efforts in education and research will help to increase substantially the effectiveness of practical training of specialists and will make a sizeable contribution to successful implementation of major international projects and to strengthening positions of Russia on energy markets worldwide.
