Transneft and Siemens signed a strategic cooperation agreement at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The document was signed by President of Transneft Nikolay Tokarev and President/Board Chairman of Siemens AG Joe Kaeser. The parties agreed to develop partnership in areas of mutual interest.
The companies are going to put in place a systematic exchange of relevant information, together reviewing the matters of reliability, operability and efficiency of equipment manufactured by Siemens that is currently installed at Transneft’s facilities. The agreement envisions interaction in the areas chosen by the Coordination Committee of the partners. Plans include automation at all levels of managing technological processes as well as engagement during the introduction of the unified supervisory control system. The automation allows effective and safe operation of pipelines as well as full compliance with relevant cybersecurity requirements. The parties will also take joint effort in areas such as Power Distribution Systems and Automated Electric Drives.
“For many years Siemens and Transneft have been partners and we have joint experience in the delivery of equipment revamping and upgrading projects for oil pumping stations and supervisory control systems. The document we have signed today testifies to the development of our cooperation, launched back in 2013,” noted Chairman of the Board and President of Siemens AG, Mr. Kaeser.
