Transneft, JSC, took part in Hannover Messe-2013 International Fair, during which the Siemens Concern and Transneft, JSC, signed a new Agreement on Strategic Partnership and Cooperation

On April 7, 2013 Hannover welcomed the International Industrial Fair - Hannover Messe-2013. President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin and Chancellor for the Federal Republic of Germany A. Merkel took part in the Opening Ceremony and in the Fair.

The stand of Transneft, JSC, showcased the Company’s investment projects and innovative projects used in the system of Transneft, JSC. For example, the subsidiary of the DIASCAN Center of Technical Diagnostics, JSC, demonstrated prototypes of combined flaw detectors, which have no comparables in other countries. Omega, CJSC, an affiliate of Transneft, JSC, showcased the leak location and activity monitoring system (SOUiKA) used by pipeline operators for continuous monitoring of pipelines to detect any ruptures or unauthorized impact.

The innovative technologies that are used on the oil trunk pipelines and that are always given special attention at Transneft, JSC, help to receive the fullest information about defects in the pipelines, thus, contributing to environmental safety of the operation of the pipeline system.

The stand of Transneft, JSC, was visited by President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin and Chancellor for the Federal Republic of Germany A. Merkel. President of Transneft, JSC N.P. Tokarev told them about the innovative solutions used in the construction and operation of the oil pipeline infrastructure in Russia.

During Hannover Messe-2013 Transneft, JSC, and Siemens AG signed an agreement on strategic partnership and cooperation. The agreement is aimed at strengthening and further development of the strategic partnership and cooperation between the companies in the business areas of mutual interest.

The agreement focuses on the cooperation in innovative modifications of industrial equipment and its application, promotion of its manufacturing in Russia, upgrading, improvement and optimization of synchronous and induction motor systems, supply and maintenance of power equipment, automation and safety.

The equipment from Siemens is currently being extensively used at facilities of ESPO-1 and ESPO-2; in the near future, the Company is planning to start using Siemens power equipment for other projects of Transneft, JSC. The Agreement stipulates the further expansion of collaboration, including participation of the Siemens Group in the Sheskharis Project, Novovelichkovskaya oil pump station and ESPO.
