Transneft President N. Tokarev and RUSNANO Management Board Chairperson A. Chubais have signed the General Agreement on Strategic Partnership between the companies.
Under the Agreement, Transneft and RUSNANO will start collaboration in deployment of nanotechnologies, nanomaterials and nanosystems in oil and oil product pipeline transportation. This refers to application of new uninterruptible power sources, protective anti-corrosion and wear-resistant coatings as well as structural elements from composite materials, which would increase the service life and improve safe operation of the transportation pipeline systems.
Transneft can already boast successful experience in using products manufactured by RUSNANO subsidiaries for the facilities of the Company – for example, application of the Orwell-R radar-optical detection and tracking complex in Spetsmornefteport "Kozmino", which was manufactured by ELVEES-Notek, as well as application of wear-resistant coatings from Plackart, CJSC, which are used on elements of inline inspection devices designed under the Program of Innovative Development of Transneft till 2017.
The General Agreement covers extended mutual cooperation in design development of innovative science-driven technologies, promotion of nano-tech products and implementation of break-through innovative projects in oil and oil product pipeline transportation.
