Transneft Volunteers Join We Are Together Nationwide Volunteer Project

Date of publication: 29 April 2020

The volunteers of Transneft and its subsidiaries have joined the We Are Together nationwide volunteer project to provide target help to those in need at the time of complete lockdown.

As of today, about 2,000 employees of Transneft and its subsidiaries participate in volunteer projects, with 6,500 people receiving help from them. Projects with Transneft volunteers involved are implemented on the territories of nearly 100 settlements. The number of willing participants increases with each passing day.

Meeting the requisite sanitary requirements and use of personal protective equipment to counteract the spread of the coronavirus infection is mandatory for volunteers.

Primary emphasis is placed on the acquisition and handover of antibacterial disinfectants and kits with food and essentials.

The volunteers are constantly on the line with the veterans of the Great Patriotic War who are former employees of the Company. The plan calls for the delivery of celebration kits to them on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.

All-round support is provided for the Vera hospice charity fund and for the Enjoyable Aging charity fund. Besides financial and material aid, the volunteers also try their best to enliven the daily routine of their wards, communicating with them online.

Donating blood is among other important thrusts: volunteers from among employees of Transneft subsidiaries donate their blood to be transfused to critically ill patients.

Furthermore, under the compulsory restriction of contacts and limited leisure options, volunteers widen the book stock of libraries at social institutions, provide assistance in implementing multimedia enlightenment projects and developing the Internet resources of regional museums.

For reference:

The We Are Together nationwide charity campaign is aimed at supporting socially unprotected citizens who are most vulnerable at the time of the coronavirus pandemic, including families of scanty means, persons with disabilities and elderly people, as well as medical workers.
