Transneft signs documents on collaboration with African oil and gas companies

A Memorandum of Cooperation between Transneft and the Kingdom of Morocco’s National Office for Hydrocarbons and Minerals (ONHYM) was signed on 17 December 2019 in the city of Rabat (Kingdom of Morocco). The document targets the development of cooperation in hydrocarbon transportation and the maintenance of respective infrastructure.

The agreement was signed by Vice President of Transneft Mikhail Margelov and Director General of ONHYM Amina Benkhadra.  Participating in the signing event was Aziz Rabbah, Minister of Energy, Mines and Sustainable Development in the Kingdom of Morocco.

On 18 December 2019 an agreement on prolongation of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Transneft and Algerian National Oil and Gas Company Sonatrach took place in the city of Algiers (the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria). The Memorandum anticipates interaction in nondestructive control and enhancing the safe operation of pipeline infrastructure. The memo forms the basis of successful joint projects.

The document was signed by Vice President of Transneft Mikhail Margelov and President & Director General of Sonatrach Eddine Chikhi.

The Kingdom of Morocco’s National Office for Hydrocarbons and Minerals (ONHYM) is a state company signing agreements with overseas businesses on prospecting, exploration and development of oil and gas fields as well as the construction and operation of respective transport infrastructure.

Sonatrach is an Algerian state oil and gas company. It is the biggest company of the African continent in terms of economic performance (across all industries). Sonatrach is engaged in oil and gas production, refining, sale and transportation, also investing in power engineering.
