Transneft has completed implementation of activities under the programme for the development of school education in Russia for 2017–2019, having allocated RUB 1.44 billion for over three years to repair schools and purchase newest equipment.
The goal of the programme is to create conditions for high-quality education and for students to master exact sciences in small towns and villages of Russia, on the territories where the Company’s subsidiaries operate.
The Company spent about RUB 500 million on the repairs, including about RUB 1 billion on equipping Russian schools with modern equipment. All the works were completed by the beginning of the new school year.
The geography of the three-year-long large-scale education development programme of Transneft covered 169 settlements of the regions where the Company operates on the territory of 8 federal districts of the Russian Federation. In total, 241 schools received targeted assistance.
The bulk of the works under the three-year-long programme was carried out in 2019: the Company allocated more than RUB 1 billion to finance the development of school education in the Russian Federation.
The implementation of Transneft’s corporate charitable programme for the development of school education will improve the quality of teaching of exact sciences and allow students acquire a set of basic knowledge for being admitted to technical vocational education institutions.
The allocated funds were used, in particular, for equipping the educational institutions with laboratory and demonstration equipment, interactive multimedia systems, digital laboratories and experimental instruments. Positive feedback was received from both teachers and students and their parents based on the results of the work.
The implementation of Transneft’s corporate programme for the development of school education for 2017–2019 has become even more important in accordance with the instructions of President of the Russian Federation (Decree No. 204 On National Goals and Strategic Objectives of the Development of the Russian Federation through to 2024, dated 07 May 2018) in the part related to the field of education, namely: solving the problem of introducing new methods of teaching and upbringing, educational technologies that ensure mastering of basic skills and abilities by pupils, as well as increasing their motivation for learning and enhancing their involvement in the educational process at the levels of basic and secondary general education.
