Third Meeting of Joint Russian and Turkish Customs Services Committee Held at NCSP

The third meeting of the Joint Russian and Turkish Customs Services Committee was held at the premises of NCSP. Participating were Head of the General Department of Organisation of Customs Processing and Customs Control at the FCS Dmitry Zhukov and Deputy Director General for EU and External Relations, the Ministry of Customs and Trade of the Republic of Turkey, Osman Nuri Beyhan.

Other participants included First Deputy Head of the General Department of Customs Information Technology
 Natalya Skvortsova, Deputy Head of the Customs Risk Management Department at the FCS of Russia Aleksandr Guskov, Head for Organisation of Customs Control at the Southern Customs Directorate (SCD) Oleg Dolgopolov and Head of Novorossiysk Customs Vladimir Litvin.

The main issue on the agenda was discussing the implementation of the Simplified Customs Corridor (SCC) project and the prospects for its further development. The participants discussed a number of questions asked by Turkish exporters in respect of the SCC implementation and participation therein: the timescale of customs operations completion for Turkish goods, the list of customs authorities within the SCC project and its extension to exports from Russia to Turkey.

During the visit to Novorossiysk, delegations of the central body of the FCS of Russia, the Southern Customs Directorate and the Trade Ministry of the Republic of Turkey visited the container terminal of NLE where they examined the operation of customs surveillance checkpoints.
