Transneft Upper Volga has begun loading petrol tank trucks at Solnechnogorsk loading station (LS) in Moscow Region in comprehensive testing mode.

On 29 June 2018, the Solnechnogorsk LS's automated loading system (ALS) filled two trucks with 35 tons of 92 RON motor petrol and 8 tons of diesel fuel.

The test runs are being conducted within the framework of the revamping of Solnechnogorsk LS which is part of the implementation of Transneft's Revamping of the Trunk Pipeline System to Boost the Volumes of Petroleum Product Transportation to Moscow Area investment project. The project provides for the development of the Ring Petroleum Products Trunk Pipeline around Moscow and the Moscow aviation hub by increasing the volumes of transportation and loading of oil products for consumers in the Moscow area.

The large-scale revamping of Solnechnogorsk LS began in 2016.

So far Transneft Upper Volga has completed the revamping of the loading station's tank farm. In addition, work has been carried out to revamp the unit for automated loading of tank vehicles with petroleum products (motor petrol, diesel fuel), and an operating building, firehouse and warehouse facilities have been constructed. The loading station's system of process pipelines and engineering networks has been revamped, and a PIG trap unit has been put into operation.

A test laboratory was built as part of the measures to boost product quality monitoring. The commissioning of this facility will ensure timely sampling of the petroleum products pumped and analysis of the qualitative composition of the fuel supplied to consumers.

In the near future, there are plans to construct a new administrative building, revamp the checkpoint and equip the operating site with modern technical security equipment systems.

Completion of the programme to revamp Solnechnogorsk LS is planned in 2019.
