Transneft and the State Archive of the Russian Federation signed a cooperation agreement on Monday in Veliky Novgorod within the Fort Ross Dialogue Russian-American international conference.
The document was signed by Larisa Rogovaya, the Director of the State Archive of the Russian Federation, and Nikolay Tokarev, the President of Transneft.
Mr Tokarev said that the signing of the agreement within the conference was significant. "In many ways, the format and guidelines of the agreement provide for assistance to the State Archive in its search for and identification of many historical materials of our cultural and historical heritage that are located abroad," Tokarev said. He noted that Transneft already has experience of cooperation in such areas.
Ms Rogovaya reminded that the State Archive had been helping return documents to Russia for many years. She said that over the past 20 years, more than 125,000 documents had been returned. "I hope that we will enjoy more acquisitions in the future, thanks to cooperation with Transneft," Ms Rogovaya said.
