Revamping of trunk pipeline system to increase the amount of petroleum product transportation to Moscow Region

Basis for Implementation of the Project:

  • The General Development Plan for of the Russian Oil Sector up to 2020, approved on 06 June 2011 by Order No.212 of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
  • Transneft’s strategy, approved by the Transneft Board of Directors.
  • The agreement between Transneft and Gazprom Neft on cooperation in the implementation of joint projects.

The Goal of the Project:

Increasing the volumes of transported light petroleum products (motor petrol, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene) and expanding the range of motor petrol types for consumers in the Moscow region.

The project anticipated construction of 78 km of the line and a new pumping station as well as revamping of the existing pumping stations, construction of tanks with the total capacity of 240,000 m3, a railway loading rack and conversion of oil pipelines to pumping petroleum products.

In 2018, the goal of the project was achieved:  facilities enabling supplies of motor petrols in the amount of up to 3.1 MTPA and aviation kerosene in the amount of up to 5.1 MTPA  to consumers in the Moscow region were commissioned.

The project has been delivered in 2019.
