Project objective: diversification of oil supplies to Western Europe due to the redistribution of oil shipments from foreign ports to the Russian port in the Baltic Sea.
The project is implemented on the ground of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No.1754-r dated November 26, 2008.
As part of the project, the construction of the oil trunk pipeline with a total length of 1,000 km and the capacity of 30 million tons of oil per year was implemented, as well as the construction of 2 PS, reconstruction of 2 PS, construction of a tank farm with the capacity of 400 thousand cubic meters and the Ust-Luga oil depot.
The route of the pipeline passes through the territory of the Bryansk, the Smolensk, the Tver, the Novgorod, and the Leningrad regions.
The construction of the oil trunk pipeline and the infrastructure facilities of the Ust-Luga oil depot was completed in full in Q1 2012.
In March 2012, the Ust-Luga port began test shipments of Russian oil.
