The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation considers Transneft's contribution to the energy security improvement, international energy cooperation and strengthening Russia’s foothold in the global markets for energy resources, according to the letter sent by Mr. Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, to Nikolay Tokarev, President of Transneft.
The Minister notes significant progress in implementing the import substitution programme and localizing foreign production facilities within the territory of the Russian Federation. The Company’s active involvement in work groups for energy of the Inter-Governmental Commissions (IGCs) is praiseworthy. The issues of international cooperation in the sphere of pipeline facilities are regularly included into the agendas of IGCs’meetings which promotes Russian businesses at the inter-governmental level.
“As concerns foreign economic relations, Transneft is successfully expanding and looking for new forms of cooperation with peer companies in other countries, in particular, within the International Association of Oil Transport (IAOT). This established platform, along with the major global energy forums, is at the forefront of promoting Transneft’s cutting-edge technologies to the global markets,” the letter also states.
“The performance in the most recent period suggests that Transneft’s and its subsidiaries’ achievements at the global level make a significant contribution to Russia’s energy security and cooperation with foreign countries,” emphasizes Alexander Novak.
