Nikolay Tokarev met with heads of Transneft subsidiaries in Tyumen

On 13 February 2017, Transneft President Nikolay Tokarev paid a working visit to the city of Tyumen, where he had a meeting with directors general of Transneft subsidiaries about the commissioning of the Zapolyarye – Purpe and Kuyumba – Tayshet oil trunk pipelines.

The meeting took place at the Transneft Siberia premises and was attended by Transneft Vice Presidents Boris Korol and Aleksey Sapsay, and the heads of Transneft subsidiaries: Transneft Siberia, Transneft East, PMC ESPO, Transneft R&D, Giprotruboprovod, Transneft Supervision, Transneft Diascan, Transneftstroy, and Svyaztransneft.

During the visit, Mr Tokarev took part in an inauguration ceremony dedicated to the commissioning of the new Zapolyarye – Purpe and Kuyumba – Tayshet oil trunk pipelines, which was also attended by the Governor of the Tyumen Region, Vladimir Yakushev.

Russian President Vladimir Putin performed the remote launch of the Zapolyarye – Purpe and Kuyumba – Tayshet oil trunk pipelines on 18 January 2017 by video conference from Moscow.

During the inauguration ceremony, awards were presented to employees of Transneft Siberia, Transneft East, PMC ESPO and representatives of subcontractors who have made a significant contribution to the implementation of the Zapolyarye – Purpe and Kuyumba – Tayshet investment projects.

The Zapolyarye – Purpe oil pipeline, with a length of 488 km and a capacity of up to 45 MTPA, is part of the Zapolyarye – Purpe – Samotlor pipeline system. The capacity of the Kuyumba – Tayshet oil trunk pipeline is up to 15 MTPA, while its length is 697 km.

The objectives of the projects are to incorporate new fields with resource potential of 2 bln tonnes of oil in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District and Krasnoyarsk region into the oil trunk pipeline system of the Russian Federation; to ensure the transportation of oil to Russian refineries; to expand opportunities for export sales; and to diversify supply routes for Russian oil to countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
