Transneft ranks 14th among the world’s top energy corporations

Transneft ranked 14th among the world’s top 250 energy corporations. The rankings were compiled by US-based S&P Global Platts (The S&P Global Platts Top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings). Transneft leaped 19 positions upwards from its 33d place in 2016.    

For all that, Transneft topped the list of companies specializing in gas and petroleum storage and transportation. In the rankings of the EMEA region encompassing Europe (Russia inclusive), Middle East and Africa Transneft ranked 5th, having moved 6 position up y-o-y.

This year the rankings have been compiled for the 16th time on the basis of financial performance of biggest public energy companies. Platts reviewed such performance indicators as net assets, earnings, profit and return on invested capital (ROIC) in 2016.
