The YUG Project. Stage 2. Construction of the Volgograd – Tikhoretsk PPTP (petroleum products trunk pipeline)

Basis for project implementation:

  • Energy Strategy of Russia for the Period up to 2030, approved by Decree No. 1715-r of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 13 November 2009;
  • General Development Plan for the Russian Oil Sector Until 2020, approved by Order No. 212 of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation on 6 June 2011;
  • Transneft Strategy until 2020, approved by the Board of Directors of Transneft.

Purpose of project implementation:

To ensure diesel fuel deliveries via the Volgograd – Tikhoretsk section to the port of Novorossiysk from the refineries of the Russian Federation and to ensure the possibility of railway petroleum products transportation.

The project included the construction of a trunk pipeline with the capacity of 6 MTPA including linear portion facilities with the total length of 495 km, the construction of pumping stations with the 80,000 m3 tank farm and external power supply facilities.

The project was implemented in 2017.
